11/01/2006 The expansion is coming!! The long awaited expansion is coming in 2008. We will combining the Tap Room and The Tap Room Annex and using the space that is now Fast Eddies Music. Creating a game room, better music space, two new handicap accessable bathrooms and allowing food service from the Annex kitchen through out the entire space. |
12/05/06 Brian Talks to Phyllis Diller! I heard that Phyllis would be a guest on the NPR talk show Talk Of THe Nation so I called in and got a chance to speak with her. John Farres sold us the bar in 1994 and said that Phyllis Diller came in all the time and cracked up the customers. When I asked her about it she said "I was drinking already huh? Oh my god I lived in Ypsilanti for three years, that's where I learned how to cook!" She continued " I used to take a receipe book down to the meat market and the nicest man there would tell me how to cook it". She that ypsi was "Cold!!". She seemed to get a kick out of remembering the place. |
12/2/2006 Critter Sighting! Banjo player Critter from the Old Crow Medicine Show was at the Tap Room Annex on Saturday. He was visiting a freind on the wait staff and caught the Hummingbirds Show. He is a super guy. Told me all about playing the Grand Ole Opry and The Prairie Home Companion Show. And he dug The Hummingbirds! |
08/01/2008 YPSIWOOD! Drew Barrymore shot many scenes from her new movie "Whip It" on Washington Street in front of the Tap Room and in the Elbow Room Bar next door. Actress Julliette Luis sipped cocktails in the Tap Room on a few evenings. |
09/25/2008 Jamie Lee Curtis Stops by! Actress Jamie Lee Curtis stopped by the humble Tap Room while in town working on the Obama campaigne. She told me she had to get a sweatshirt for her husband Christopher Guest, who starred in Spinal Tap. Tap, get it, Tap Room! |
